World Diabetes Day is fast coming upon us.  The continuing theme this year is Diabetes in children and adolescents.  Diabetes is an increasingly prevalent chronic childhood disease with an an estimated 440,000 children live with type 1 diabetes globally.  There are many things that can be done at the local chapter to spread the awareness of children and diabetes.  You can also join in one of the many activities already planned in your community or work in liaison with other community organized groups.  Further information, ideas and materials can be found at here or through the IDF's world diabetes day website at: http://www.worlddiabetesday.org/!
